Legos and Harry Potter, my two obsessions as a young kid. As the youngest of four children with three older sisters, I spent much of my time discovering my own ways to entertain myself. I resorted to building lego sets, breaking them own, and designing new structures as well as watching the Harry Potter films countless times.
From the ages of ten to thirteen I spent what seemed like limitless hours creating wooden forts, bike tracks, a driving range, and a sand volleyball court throughout my father's vineyard. This progressed into my teenage construction career as a I designed and constructed three treehouses, a pool house, and an indoor-ceiling-suspended loft. I also spent time up in Washington working with Habitat for Humanity.
Going off to UC Berkeley I knew I wanted to pursue an education in the field of design. With all of my experience building structures, Architecture was a clear choice. I have never been one for restrictive rules and regulations in my life so building codes do not appeal to me much. Because of this, I have grown to appreciate the focus that Berkeley's Architecture program places upon creativity and vision. This, along with my long lasting love of film, has pushed my towards my interest in set and production design.
While at Cal, I continue to push my creativity and discover new forms of design. Whether that be through photoshop and illustrator, decorating for events at my fraternity, photographing the great outdoors while skating, snowboarding, scuba diving, or backpacking, or simply watching countless Youtube videos of micro apartments and set constructions, I am always thinking of new things I can create and share with the world.
